Embryo - No God Slave - 02.04.10

Being slaves to the touring circuit has obviously paid dividends for the Italian quintet who’ve honed their artistry to a fine standard and have apparently built a brand new sixth gear just for their latest album. Melding death metal, thrash, and the melodic synths from black metal, they manage to hit all their targets with a precision helped by a polished, tight production. Massive riffs ram home like a sledgehammer, while clever melodies intertwine throughout the incendiary onslaught. With traces of Gojira’s stomping groove and the melodious elements of some of Scandinavia’s finest, Embryo are sounding like a serious prospect indeed.
